Aaliya is an independent associate that leads the modest fashion sector for DinarStandard and works across the food, banking, and chemical industries as well. She creates solutions for clients through primary and secondary research, data analysis, and market-sizing calculations and forecasts.
Since she started in March 2020, Aaliya has served as a research analyst for the US UNHCR report, where she forecasted the size and prepared an analysis of demographics among the US Muslim population, and for the State of the MENASA eCommerce report as a consultant. Additionally, Aaliya was the lead analyst of the modest fashion chapter in the State of the Global Islamic Economy 2020/21 Annual Report, of the sizing and Global Islamic Economy indicator, and of the IOFS Private Sector Engaging Business Plan
Prior to her work at DinarStandard, Aaliya was a Senior Associate in Chemical, Materials, and Food at Frost and Sullivan. She also was PM for Facebook’s She Means Business training program, where she managed five direct reports and external stakeholders as an independent consultant. Aaliya has also designed business plans for small and medium companies ranging from snack retailers to a football training academy.
Aaliya received her BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg along with a certification in Market Research, Consumer Insights, and Competitor Analysis from the University of Cape Town.
